Google has been tweaking its self-driving car project for years, but now it’s taking another big step. Now Google has revealed the prototypes of its new vehicles, which the company has built from scratch, and come without the usual features we’ve come to expect from our cars – namely the steering wheel and pedals. Instead, these prototypes come equipped with an array of sensors that remove blind sports and can detect objects up to 200 meters away. These first prototypes will be used as testbeds for Google’s latest driverless technology and will be limited to a top speed of just 25 mph. So far, Google says it’s not planning to sell the vehicles itself, but is looking for “friends and partners to bring them to market.
